Overview

Based in Boise, Idaho, our Addiction Medicine Fellowship is a 12 month program that can be completed full-time over one calendar year or part-time over two years, while still working in the trainee's primary specialty.  The fellowship strives to provide a unique and collaborative approach to education in the diagnosis and treatment of substance use disorders through a variety of inpatient, outpatient, and residential treatment programs that will prepare trainees to provide an evidence-based and multi-disciplinary approach to the field of Addiction Medicine.

MISSION STATEMENT

Our mission is to improve the health of Idahoans by creating leaders in Addiction Medicine who will use their training to expand evidence-based addiction services throughout the Mountain West. The fellowship aims to train a workforce that practices compassionate, patient-centered, evidenced-based addiction treatment and increases access to substance use disorder services through patient care, advocacy, and participation in local, state and national associations. The fellowship fosters a safe and inclusive learning environment that encourages compassion and critical thinking in a variety of patient care settings and transitions.
