CAMARADERIE
The UW Boise Fellows work and socialize together, and also with other trainee groups in the area including: medical students, psychiatry residents, internal medicine residents, family medicine residents, pharmacy residents, nurse practitioner residents, and psychology post-docs. This is facilitated through overlapping rotations and interprofessional retreats and conferences.
Financial Wellness
Our fellows benefit from relatively low cost-of-living and high quality of life in the Boise area. We support fellows through paid medical licenses, professional development and travel, free gym membership, and paid subscriptions to ASAM and ACAAM. Fellows get full healthcare and retirement benefits through the University of Washington.
Physical Wellness
The Boise area has a culture that embraces being outdoors and physically active. Our core hospitals and
clinics are all near downtown, and there are convenient bike/walking routes abound. The Boise VA has a full gym on campus, a yoga program, and sits 100 yards from trailhead access to one of the premier hiking/running/biking trail systems in the country.
EMotional & Mental WEllness
UW Boise fellows have free confidential access to counseling through the UW Medicine Graduate Medical Education wellness service and through the Ada County Medical Society Physician Vitality program.
As a University of Washington Boise Addiction Medicine Fellowship, you and/or your spouse/partner will receive up to six free visits with a mental health counselor provided by Ada County Medical Society Physician Vitality Program. You also have access to up to four more visits per 12-month period through the UW GME Wellness benefits.
